Data driven maintenance and innovation in infrastructure
Should infrastructure-experts become data-scientist or are data engineers able to understand infrastructures?
This session will explore the benefits and the curses related to the digitization of infrastructures. Evolutions in technology have created a wealth of big data related to the infrastructure assets and its use. However, most of this data remains unused. How can such data (which is variable, of different quality, from heterogeneous sources, in different formats…) be processed to better operate and maintain infrastructures? Should infrastructure-experts become data-scientist or are data engineers able to understand infrastructures? Is the booming of digitization and artificial intelligence a hype or a real hedge towards more sustainable infrastructure? Both positive and negative experiences will be discussed as lessons learned.
